In this case study, I’ll detail my experience working on my first freelance music video project for a close friend, who was releasing a new rap single. He approached me with the opportunity to collaborate on the music video, trusting my design and editing skills to bring his vision to life.

At the time, I had no prior knowledge of filming or producing music videos, which made this project both exciting and a bit intimidating. While I had a strong background in design and video editing, creating a full music video was a whole new challenge. However, I was eager to take on the project and expand my skill set.

We discussed his vision for the project in detail—he wanted the video to reflect the raw energy of the song, with a style that resonated with his audience. He had some initial ideas, but also gave me creative freedom to incorporate my own input. Even though I had no formal experience in filming, I quickly dove into researching shooting techniques, camera angles, and lighting, which helped me build a foundation for the video production process.
